Various methods for drying common salt were studied for the purpose of elevation of quality, prevention of block formation, and to enable automatic weighing and packing.
Comparison experiments of the pneumatic conveying dryer (Fig. 3 and 7), the vacuum dryer (Fig. 1) and the vertical type through-circulating dryer (zig-zag dryer Fig. 2) were done.
The results of experiments are shown graphically in Fig. 11-Fig. 14.
It was found that the pneumatic conveying dryer was the most effective from the standpoints of both drying and equipment costs.
This dryer is of practical use and effects of various factors on drying will be discussed in the next report.
