We, the Japanese people, must study the Constitution of Japan, especially in terms of the three fundamental principles in elementary school social studies. However, while reading the preamble, it becomes clear that there are more than four fundamental principles in the Constitution. Besides, legal researchers and lawyers have also insisted that there are more than four. The "when", "why" and "who" limited these principles to three? Although elementary school textbooks say that they are just three principles, the course of study does not limit them to this number. Therefore, questions about these principles become deeper, and in order to prepare answers to these questions, I want to go back to the time of the establishment of the Constitution and address two problems in this paper. First, I will make clear the fact that researchers insisted that there were actually more than four fundamental principles. Secondly, I will refer to the textbooks that describe the principles as being more than four. Finally, I will prove that there were no reasons to limit them to three.
