大学生を対象としたマインドフルネス・プログラムの体験内容と効果

 Mindfulness is a technique in which a person focuses his or her full attention only on the present moment and accepts oneself as one who has no judgement. Various studies have shown its effectiveness on those with clinical problems and healthy people. In this research, an 8-week program of mindfulness was conducted to examine its content and effects. There was a statistically significant improvement of the degree of a sense of life worth living after the program although there was no change in the degree of mental health. The KJ Method was used for analyzing participants' opinions in the free description, revealing that their senses were converged into the three groups: “consciousness and emotion,” “the level of arousal,” and “body sensations.” Conflicting responses such as “positive change” and “negative response,” and “the rise of arousal level” and “the decline of arousal level”were included. The findings suggest that acceptance is promoted due to the reduction of experiential avoidance bringing about positive effects.
