By what kind of climatological elements and how the dustfall in basin city Fukushima is influenced are discussed in this paper.
The results obtained are summarized as follows.
i) The distribution of the dustfall seems to be controlled by the wind direction as a result of topographical effects (See Figs. 2, 3 and 4).
ii) The seasonal variation of the dustfall is apparently caused by various climatological elements, and how the latters have connection with the former depends upon the geographical condition of each station as shown by statistical analyses such as correlation coefficients (See Tables 1 and 2).
iii) Although the wind direction and temperature inversion are the most influential factors for the air pollution in common, the precipitation may be also an effective factor especially as to the sampling method of the dustfall (See Fig. 5).
