Abstract
As atropine has been spoken of as causing an evident increase in epinephrine load of the suprarenal capsule, if the amount be sufficiently large, it has been subcutaneously dosaged for rabbits till 70 mgrms. per kilo of body weight.
When rabbits were put under atropine for only 5 minutes or 1 hour, the epinephrine content was found only reduced. On reviewing the reports of the previous writers and taking into consideration the idea that has led them to undertake their works, the outcome of which came to affirm it in turn, that the parasympathetic nerves containing in the splanchnic nerves only control output of epinephrine from the supra-renals which is inhibited by application of atropine, rabbits were put under atropine for the long interval of time of 4-5 hours. The amount of atropine was also large, 35-135 mgrmsr per kilo, but instead of.find-ing an increase in the epinephrine load, nothing but a decrease resulted.
