Abstract

The Eck fistula was established in 2 dogs with gall bladder fistula.Prior and subsequent to that operation, the biliary excretion was studied on giving some food-stuffs, such as milk, beef, rice or bread, in the amount corresponding to one third of the total basic calories per diem.
Contrary to the gastric and pancreatic secretion, the biliary excretion was not materially altered by excluding the portal circulation from the liver; in some cases it increased a little, in others decreased a little.
Excretion of solids in the bile was measured reduced, usually, though not significantly.
