In toads the spinal root pathway of the adrenaline-secretory fibers to the adrenal gland was studied, taking the depletion of the adrenal gland as an indicator of augmented adrenaline secretion. The adrenaline and noradrenaline content of the adrenal gland was estimated by the use of the permaganate method. The adrenaline-secretory fibers were found to run through the 3rd, the 4th and the 5th ventral spinal roots.
