The actual method of estimating the ammonia unit of Yakriton with the use of animals of known detoxicating activity of the liver has been described. 10 units (10 rabbit-ammonia-units) per kilo gram of body weight are an amount of Yakriton which will prevent a rabbit of the detoxicating liver power of class b from any toxic effect of a fresh 3% ammonium chloride solution administered intraperitoneally 5 minutes later than the subcutaneous injection of Yakriton.
