The authors analyzed the pilot project of Maritime Single Window (MSW) in United Kingdom (UK). The result shows that the differences of MSW between UK and Japan are existence of mandate from an external framework, separate set-up with the Customs’ system and the role of Port Community System, while the similarity is the phased integration with other related government systems. Also, the authors identify the key points of introducing MSW to be external framework combining international conventions or agreements with financial support and organizational settings for the establishment of MSW.
