This article describes the outline of the Oukan Gijutsu forum, which held on Jan. 2011. The objective of the forum was to demonstrate the strength of Japanese society against disasters from the viewpoint of Socio-Informatics. The Socio-Informatics is a comparatively young field of a social science and the Society of Socio-Informatics (SSI) is a new academic society. The article summarizes the SSI’s activities against the east Japan disaster. Then the summaries of the forum will be presented.
