The present investigation has been planned to obtain the fundamental information on the optimum weaving condition. It aims to produce the fabric having good physical properties. The physical properties of the fabrics have been determined by using the Kawabata's Evaluation System, KES-F. The manufacturing conditions provided are :
1) Weaving; load on the weight lever, shed angle at the moment of beat-up, position of the back roller, and the tension of the weft insertion.
2) False twisting; number of twists, setting temperature of the heater and velocity of the delivery yarn.
The main results obtained from the present investigation are as follows;
1) The physical properties of the fabric varies according to the weaving conditions provided. The most remarkable changes in the physical properties are tensile and shearing propertyies. The former is due to the load on the weight lever and the tension of the weft insertion. The latter is due to the position of the back roller.
2) Due to the change in the false twisting conditions for weft, the physical properties of the fabric is changed in weft and warp directions. The most remarkable variation of the physical properties are bending, compressional and shearing properties The bending and compressional properties are affected by the number of false twists, and the shearing property is affected by the velocity of the delivery yarn.
