This research aimed to clarify the developmental process of motor skills on collaborative learning in physical education. First, based on “dialogic learning on physical education” derived from the trinity of dialogic practice of learning that Manabu Sato proposed, physical education class of small hurdle races for the 3rd graders of elementary school was designed and practiced. Then, the class was recorded by a video camera and 4 episodes were extracted. These episodes were put in chronological order and were examined with a focus on situations and contexts leading to the occurrence of learned. The analysis clarified that this class went through the following process: unstable environment was created by presenting tasks centering on “the essence of fun in exercise” and by involving conditions that were difficult to achieve in a state of stability; students, receiving helping hands from other students and teachers, learned by mistakes; and before long big disturbance caused the destruction of the previous movement, which, in turn, contributed to the construction of a new movement.
