For a sustainable urban regeneration policy, it is important to know trends and features of urban decline. The purposes of this study are to develop the diagnostic methodology of the urban decline and to identifythe decline features for the city scale in Tokyo metropolitan area. In this study, I selected 33 indicators in 3 domains of population and society, industry and economy, and physical environment. It also evaluated and compared each cities' decline, identified features in urban decline based on Multiple Decline Index. Besides, application of the established classification model for the level of declined cities. This study decides the order of decline by quantifying the degree of decline utilizing the statistical data and has the meaning for confirmation of the degree and classification of the characteristics for the decline.
