The loading tests of free riboflavin (FR), FMN and FAD were performed in 10 cases of the renal disease, following the concentration of riboflavin in the blood as well as in the urine. By means of the ureter-catheterization the riboflavin excretions from each side of the kidneys were also observed. During the operation of those cases the exploratory excision of the kidney was attempted, in order to measure the activity of alkaline phosphatase in it. The excretion of riboflavin was commenced within 15 minuits after the injection in most of the cases, even in those cases, whose excretion of indigo carmine were far delayed more than 30 minuits. The excretion of riboflavin and the maximum concentration were slightly delayed, when FAD was loaded. Riboflavin in the urine was composed from 80% of FR and 20% of FMN. In the cases of renal dysfunction or of the low activity of renal alkali-phosphatase the rate were deviated ; namely the rate of FR in those cases was decreased less than 80%, while the tendency was becoming more remarkable, when any types of riboflavin were loaded. The recovering of the rate after the loading was also delayed in those cases. Applying the histochemical technique the fluoroscopic pictures of riboflavin were observed in each kidney in relation to the activity of alkali-phosphatase in it.
