Abstract
The activity on the growth of lactic acid bacteria by violet fluorescent substances produced by Aspergillus and Penicillium were investigated. Moreover, whether they display growth-inhibiting effect upon several fungi, yeast, bacteria and Hiochi-bacteria or not was also examined. The major component of the fluorescent substances, can replace folic acid for the growth of Streptococcus faecalis R, supporting 44% of maximum growth with 0.773 μg/ml concentration when autoclaved together with the media, while the growth was not accelerated by the material, added asepticaly.
