Abstract
The release of L-ascorbic acid (AsA) and L-dehydroascorbic acid (DAsA) from human erythrocyte was investigated in vitro. The erythrocyte, preincubated with DAsA, was used. It contained DAsA and AsA produced by reduction of DAsA in erythrocyte. AsA was released very slowly into the medium from the erythrocyte to an equilibrium state during 20 hours. The release of DAsA was rapidly and its concentration in the medium became equal to that in the cell within one minute.
