The influences of riboflavin (B_2) and riboflavin-5'-phosphate-diethanolamine(B_2-PE) on the renal function were compared each other, the glomerular filtration rate (G.F.R.) being taken as an indicator. Changes in G.F.R. and the quantity of urine due to an administration of 10mg. each of B_2 or B_2-PE were observed on six patients with liver trouble, five renal patients and two healthy control subjects. In healthy adults there was no significant difference in the G.F.R. and the quantity of urine between B_2 and B_2-PE. In renal and livery patients, more considerable increases of G.F.R. and the quantity of urine were noticed by administration of B_2-PE as compared with those by B_2. These results indicate that B_2-PE is more effective on the deteriorated renal function than B_2.
