Abstract
The thiamine-decomposing activity of a series of flavonoids and phenols was investigated and the flavonoids containing o-diphenol in the side chain as well as pyrocatechol and its derivatives were found generally to have a very potent activity of thiamine decomposition. The glycoside formation at 3-hydroxy group showed varying influences according to the various derivatives.
