In order to define the structure of dihydroflavoglaucin, 2, 5-dihydroxy-4-isoamyloctophenone and 2, 5-dihydroxy-4-n-heptylisocaprophenone were synthesized according to Raistrick's method. However, both compounds were proved to be not identical with dihydrofravoglaucin by mixed fusion.
