Abstract
Nitrogen gas adsorption was examined with the X-type sodium zeolite of various crystallinity, synthesized in this laboratory. A correlation was found between the amount of monomolecular saturated adsorption and the crystallinity calculated from the X-ray diffraction data. Further, the Frenkel-Halsey-Hill theory was applied to zeolite and the amounts of saturated adsorption in a millipore and of a monomolecule adsorption on outer surface were calculated. It was thereby found that the inner surface area was far greater than the outer surface and that the crystallinity obtained from the inner surface area was well correlated with that obtained from the X-ray diffraction.
