The AATEX (Alternatives to Animal Testing and Experimentation, Online ISSN: 2185-4726, Print ISSN: 1344-0411) is a specialized journal of the Japanese Society for Alternatives to Animal Experiments (JSAAE) first published by Professor Tsutomu Sugahara in 1990. This journal has been published on J-Stage as an English journal since Volume 11, Issue 1 in 2005. In Asia, only one of the journal published on J-Stage in the field of research on alternatives to animal experiment. 122 papers have already been published on J-Stage. Documentation is provided about the history of this journal from its first issue to the current issue.
