The collaboration between forestry sector and welfare service for persons with disabilities aims to simultaneously solve the problems of securing forestry labor and employment opportunities for people with disabilities. This collaboration has attracted considerable attention in recent years. However, this topic has not been researched or progressed. This study examines a case study clarifies the process of the establishing such a collaboration and the factors contributing to its continuation after surveying the status of forestry and social welfare collaboration in Japan. It employed face-to-face interviews with the staff of the Miyagawa forestry association and welfare facility (Ziguso Kobo) in October 2023. Subsequent interviews were conducted with the same staff and workers in the local governments via email. The survey results indicated that matching the needs of the forestry association and the welfare facility and the absence of opposition contributed to the process of establishing the collaboration, and that external financial assistance was not needed. The reason for the continuation of the collaboration was that the collaboration continued to be significant for both the forestry association and the welfare facility despite changes in the significance of the cooperation. The presence or absence of subsidies did not affect the collaboration.

This study aimed to clarify the characteristics and relationships between tree perception and awareness of forests and forest environmental education among university students residing in five regions of China. This analysis using text mining revealed the following points. First, the top 50 recognized trees were extracted, with high response frequencies for trees such as pine, willow, poplar, ginkgo, Chinese cypress, Chinese parasol tree, pagoda tree, banyan, and peach, etc. Second, it was found that tree perception varied by ethnicity, region of residence, and frequency of visits to forests. Third, seven categories of awareness towards forest and forest environmental education were extracted, showing a correlation with tree perception. These results suggest that factors such as geographical conditions of trees, cultural tree beliefs, opportunities for forest access, and awareness of forests are related to tree perception.
