The pollen grains of Pseudolarix can be distinguished from Keteleeria by the diameter, and from other Pinaceae by the shape of bladders and marginal ridge. The fossil 1 pollen grains of Pseudolarix-type were found in the deposits of Tannowa (latest pleiocene). These palynological characters resemble those of recent Pseudolarix.
