The purpose of this paper is to improve educational skills, utilizing faculty exchange program of National College of Technology (NCT). The explanation and examination of the new analytical method (i.e ., the homogeneous liquid-liquid extraction method) was combined on the education program of the introduction to chemistry and biochemistry engineering in Hachinohe NCT. In this paper, the educational effects for the program were investigated.

Microorganism yeast is used in various fermented foods such as miso, vinegar, wine, beer and sake. In recent years, the amount of sake consumption is on a declining trend with an increase of the amount of shochu, Japanese distilled spirit. Therefore, some of the Sake breweries are developing the characteristic sake with novel sake yeast. In this study, I attempted to isolate of wild sake yeasts from cherry blossoms. I was able to isolate two types of wild yeast, and I have analyzed both the features for the ability of alcohol fermentation and the DNA fragment size of ITS region. The two types of yeast had the equal alcohol fermentation ability with Saccharomyces cerevisiae , using in the brewing as most popular yeast.

Fecal contamination occurred in ichigashuku Dam during summer months were investigatedto develop effective control strategies. The phenotypic and genotypic methods were applied to identify sources of fecal indicator organism, Escherichia coli isolated from the dam. The phenotypic characterization of E. coli isolates was based on the biochemical API 20E test system, whereas the genetic relationship of strains was assessed by using rep-PCR DNA fingerprinting. Total coliforms counts in the dam varied seasonally and increased significantly from July to October. The number of totalcoliforms in summer was higher than 1000MPN/100mL,which was Japanese standard value for a A-typelake. Most of E.coli strains isolated from the dam showed the similar phenotypic and genotypic profiles to those isolated from the upper reaches of the dam. Although it became unclear where the fecal pollution was derived from, E.coli isolates from Yokogawa and Kumazawa Bridge closely related to those from the dam according to the combined API and DNA based similarity coefficients.

The Weathering Steel with its properties of rust is resistant to atmospheric corrosion.Because of a rust layer produced on the steel is compact and stable. The steel using without coating is very economical and superior from the viewpoint of saving materials and energy. However, the rust on Weathering Steel is influenced by the environment. Therefore it is necessary to inspect and examine the steel after construction. There is a evaluation of outward rust as the method. And the method is evaluating the rust from Level 1 to Level 5. But there are some points at issue of the method. It is that evaluation is changed by subjectivity of a person evaluating the steel. In the present study, it proposed the method of distinguishing the rust appearance evaluation that used the picture processing as a technique for solving the problem.

The snow caused by the snowfall ground of winter and the influence of freezing greatly influence an industrial, economic activity and the life.
A total rate of accident of the snowfall ground in winter tends to rise to about 3〜4 times compared with the rate of accidents other than winter. The change in the road surface condition influences the safety of the road traffic. Then, the method for distinguishing the road surface condition in winter from the image of the infrared camera and black and white CCD camera that can be widely detected by noncontact is devised in the present study.

In Hachinohe National College of Technology, there had been some students who were unable to get the TOEIC score 400, which they were required to pass before graduation. In order to work out their problems on TOEIC, the staff of the English department of HNCT had worked on tutoring them. Inthis essay some examples of tutoring are introduced to examine what the students have difficulty in and to show the emphasis on vocabulary building as a way to improve their English skill in a limited duration.
