Measurements of groundwater level in boreholes and evaluations of water saturation by using amplitude domain reflectometry (ADR) method were conducted in unconsolidated ground of several meters thickness from the surface whose hydraulic conductivity was around 10
−5m/s. The result showed that the water-saturated area by a direct rainfall infiltration was within depth of 1m, that the unsaturated area with moisture movement by rainfall was within depth of 3-4m, and that the water-saturated area by groundwater and capillary fringe was deeper than depth of 4m in the unconsolidated ground. The conceptual model of rainfall infiltration in the unconsolidated ground was also constructed by using data of groundwater level and water saturation.
