The purpose of this paper is to clarify the question of why the ratio of non-regular employees is low in the manufacturing industry. Three hypotheses can be proposed to explain the low ratio of non-regular employees compared to the service industry: the job rotation hypothesis, the telework increase hypothesis, and the job-type employment increase hypothesis. Except for Company M, three manufacturing companies (Company M, Company G, and Company T) regularly employ job rotation among their regular employees, supporting the job rotation hypothesis. It was substantiated. The telework increase hypothesis and the job-type employment increase hypothesis were not supported under the limited survey of four companies.
