Serum LDL-cholesterol (LDL-C) of 929 Peoples who received a medical checkup was analyzed using the homogeneous assay method by a reagent; Cholestest LDL (Daiichi Pure Chemicals Ltd) . This system showed reliable sensitivity regarding several functional activities. Obesity, hypertension, and smoking were significantly correlated with high LDL-C value (p<0.05) . Therefore, these results suggested that (1) obesity, hypertension, and smoking are risk factors for arteriosclerosis, and (2) serum LDL-C is valuable as one of the screening methods for detection of arteriosclerosis during a medical checkup.

The effects of walking on an accelerated plethysmogram (APG) were assessed for 58 middle-aged and elderly women (mean±SD; 62.1±5.7years) . Measurements of height, weight, APG, blood pressure, blood properties, and maximal oxygen uptake per weight (Vo2 max/wt) were performed at the beginning and the end of walking. Subjects were divided into three groups ; group A who walked 8, 000 steps or more per day, group B who walked between 7, 000 and 7, 999 steps per day, and group C who walked less than 7, 000 steps per day. In all groups, weight and body mass index (BMI) decreased significantly after walking. HDL-C increaesed and FBS decreased significantly in group A. In group B, Vo2 max/wt increased and SBP, TC, LDL-C decreased siginificantly. The APG-index increased and APG wave patterns improved in group A and B. These data suggest that 7, 000 steps or more per day may improve the function of peripheral circulation evaluated by APG.

Nowadays, We tend to make light of Tropical Infectious Diseases and Parasitic Diseases because many kinds of diseases in Japan have already eradicated by Japanese physicians. Over 16 million Japanese tourists go abroad every year without information and prevention about these diseases. However, these diseases have still been raging in developing countries. It means that the risks of infection are increasing for Japanese tourists without immunity. We have to take measures based on global standpoints for Imported Infectious Diseases because we are under threat by Emerging Diseases (Lassa fever, Ebola etc.) and Re-Emerging Diseases (Malaria, Tuberculosis etc.) in recent years. Industrial and health check up doctors should understand Imported Infectious Diseases have possibility to prevail over many countries, take history of going abroad and get more information about these diseases by using internet. It is absolutely necessary to manage and cope with Imported Infectious Diseases in health Consultation and examination for overseas workers who have returned from abroad according to the law of new prevention against Infectious Diseases in Japan.

Breast cancer is a serious problem for women and early detection is most useful. Today many hospital have established breast cancer screening programs using mammography and/or ultrasound. In our MHTS center, mammography is available as a optional test, but we think it is important for each examinee to be conscious of breast self examination. So we use questionnare and study about consciousness of women to breast self examination. This study of qestionnare shows their lower consciousness of breast cancer.

On each particular field, latter half and each institute in 1990's proposed reference value simultaneously. Until now, “normal value”has been used for the case of the medical judgment. The concept with the normal can not have the distrust, while it is long, either, and it keeps be used the thing that the result which there is in the normal counter electrode is abnormal and that it is not abnormal. However, the advance of science and technology had made more detailed analysis and diagnosis to be a possible thing, and in being not a disease as a concept of the health only, it became the age which did not become an evaluation of the health. Only that measuring method increases also increases on“reference value”... and, the compatibility between facilities becomes also a difficult situation, as measuring method increases. It looks forward to the medical examinee easily comparing with test result by last time, even if it has in when, where medical examination. Body information for the medical examination traces the wholeheartedness of miniaturization and segmentation, and diagnosis information increases by a diversity more precisely. The medical examination facilities would have to have the technique for making type of the reference value which increases like this and compatibility between facilities to be an easy thing. There is the trial which intends to unify the reference value adopted in each facilities, and it worries with whether that the specificity in which measuring method and measurement have the reference value which is a medical criterion is unified by disregarding, does not hurt the accuracy of the diagnosis. Then, the reference value adopted between facilities proposed common evaluation method in which becoming common, was possible by standardizing measured value by each reference value, while it is used in the convention way.“Common evaluation method”was proposed as the result which measuring method and reference value which are segmented also examined the possibility of the forecast prediction of health risk of reference value of the group and individual reference value by the comparison, while it is used in the pair along the convention as a criterion.
