In Japan, the Committee for Ship Reliability Investigation had been constructing a database system (SRIC Database System in JAPAN) for the improvement in ship reliability. The present SRIC of third generation has just became a useful system included over 114000 field data about the failures and alarms of ship equipment pass the long time investigation from 1982. And, it is became clear that the average failure rate of the whole of ship equipment is 7.0 [Case/1000Hr.] and the average work for repair is 5.0 [Man*Hr./Case] by SRIC. And it is noticed that the failure ratio of the miscellaneous equipment included the oil purifiers is about 43 [%] .
The average of the electric and electronic equipment failure ratio is about 28 [%] . The failure rate is changing with same level and the average failure rate of the electric and electronic equipment is about 2.1 [Case/1000Hr.] . However the average work for repair of the electronic equipment failure shows a tendency to a slight increase from the 90s. It is considered that there is an effect to introduce the new type equipment like a computer and the laborsaving on the ship.
SRIC plays a very important role both in the field of study and in the field of practical use. And the information on the ship reliability is needed hereafter. This paper reports the latest results of the statistical analysis and the multivariate analysis about the ship equipment failures by using SRIC database system.

The paper shows the result of various experiments it applies the blended fuel of soybean oil which is producible vegetable oil and kerosene to the diesel engine for the purpose of the reduction of the gas oil use.The mixing rate of the blended fuel was made to be soybean oil 20-80vol%, then, that application to the current diesel engine was tried. As a basic experiment, the property of the fuel was examined in the beginning, and the ignition experiment was carried out, and in addition, the spray experiment of the spray distribution in the pressure vessel was done. Then, using the diesel engine, the engine performance test which examined engine performances such as exhaust gas characteristics and thermal efficiency was carried out. As the result, it was possible to obtain the good result over the expectation with the 20vol% blended
