In cases of using lingual appliances considerable differences with labial appliances in tooth movement have been experienced.
Especially in lingual orthodontic treatment, in the early stages of treatment posterior disclussion can occur and there are differences concerning the moment of the tooth and the biomechanics are rather different to that in labial treatment.
During treatment biomechanics should be carefully considered and a suitable anchorage system must be selected. In this case not only control of the A-P direction but also the vertical direction of the anchorage is an important factor.
Concerning kinds of anchorage control, one is using the occlusal function, another is using micro screws. There are a number of other anchorage methods.
Due to the position of the implantation of the mini screw easy control of the A-P and vertical directions is possible.
Taking these ideas in to consideration I would now like to give you my personal opinion about selection of anchorage systems.

Recently, the number of orthodontic patients who select lingual orthodontic treatment increased. However the ligation of the wire is difficult, it takes time to the wire change too much in this treatment. Therefore, Orthodentist doesn't select lingual appliance easily actually.
We selected to use “Evolution” bracket for the reason of a Self-ligating lingual bracket, The chair-time reduced significant, because it eliminates ligature tie. It is said that Self-ligating bracket facilitate the alignment rapidly. The purpose of this study was to investigate the speed of leveling and the transmission of torque.

In recent years, along with an increasing demand for the aesthetic mouth, not only the teeth alignment but also the color quality of teeth is growing people's attention. Although a number of teeth whitening after orthodontic treatment have been reported, there is no report on the whitening which can be applied at home even during lingual orthodontic treatment, which can be considered to be very useful.
Therefore, we designed whitening tray that can be used for at-home whitening during lingual orthodontic treatment without removing braces and examined its whitening effect.
