As the practice of new lifestyles and the introduction of work-from-home job accelerate, the importance and number of operating hours of air-conditioning systems are also increasing. In addition, the electrification of automobiles and the race to conserve energy are driving the need for energy-saving air-conditioning equipment in automobiles. In this study, we aim to save energy consumption and improve thermal comfort of indoor air-conditioning systems by controlling psychological influences of the indoor environment. As a first step, to propose light colors that provide a comfortable environment and save energy consumption of air-conditioning, quantitative evaluation was conducted for the effect of lighting colors indoors on changes in thermal sensation. Specifically, sensory information related to thermal comfort was examined using a computer-based work task and self-evaluation information in a room with different lighting colors.

We report a case of mechanical design education at National Institute of Technology (KOSEN). In the first half, we describe a follow-up report on design and drawing education related to manufacturing. First, we introduce the content and schedule of this subject. Next, we describe the class flow and show examples of products. Finally, we describe a questionnaire on class activities. The results of the questionnaire showed as follows: 1) The improvement is seen in terms of due dates. 2) In the group work, there is a bias in the work ratio among the members. In the second half, we report on the collaborative classes between National Institute of Technology, Maizuru College and Nara College on design. This subject is conducted as a remote class. We describe design review efforts related to the cover design of journal of Japan Society for Design Engineering.
