This paper investigates the texture and r-value in the stir zone of asymmetric warm rolled sheets welded by friction stir welding. The texture in the stir zone was different from that of the matrix. The simple shear texture, A

〉and C

〉were dominant components in the stir zone. Those texture components didn't vary with welding speed, but the texture in the stir zone varied periodically between the A component and the C component. This periodicity of textural variation is corresponds to the quarter rotation of FSW tool. The A and the C components are thought to exist equally in the stir zone. The r-value of WD in the stir zone measured was about 1.0, nearly equal to that of the matrix.
