For digital transformation (DX) of infrastructure management, incorporation with ICT technology and AI technology is actively studied. Wide range of application of advanced sensing and ICT/AI for infrastructure management is explored in this issue. Especially information exchange by data platform among various interdisciplinary fields are shown to be useful for monitoring and management of infrastructure,

Highway bridges and tunnels are inspected regulary once in five years. Inspection results for bridges revealed 9% of total stock was category III, which requires prompt countermeasure, and 0.9% was category IV, requires emergent action. Calculating from annual budget, it will take about 20 years to repair all bridges of categories III and IV. Therefore importance of preventive maintenance is highlighted. At Public Works Research Institute, AI based diagnosis system is being developed. In addition early detectdion and countermeasures are studied for slab degradation to aggregate, concrete bridge damage from salt, and scour of bridge foundation in river.

Maintenance of social infrastructure is studied to contribute to resilient national land and disaster prevention at Sustainable Infrastructure Research Laboratory (SiRL) of National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). This article introduces detection of rain water leakage at sewerage by AI analysis of acoustics and displacement measurement of structures based on aerial shoot by UAV. Validity and efficiency of the proposed methods are verified and demonstrated.

National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) joined Infrastructure Maintenance, Renovation and Management of Cross-ministrerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP) and developed corrosion acceleration testing method, corrosion monitoring; new materials for corrosion-resistant rebar, and polymer or cement repair materials. In addition, sensing system for concrete interior environment and non-destructive inspection metod for rebar corrosion. NIMS is continuously working toward establishment of preventive maintenance.

Resilient natural environment measurement technology is introduced with emphasis on visual IoT technology. In this vision research, importance of seeing by human eyes in realtime is stressed. The technology is applied to: snow fall detection; monitoring of water level at river; smoke detection; or volcation monitoring. By mapping the information, realtime detection and visualization of natural disasters are studied with fusion of IoT and GIS.

Monitoring of vehcles at bridges are studied at National Institute of Informatics (NII), using deep learning. Passing vehcles and lanes are detected with velocity, number of axles and weight estimation based on measurement of strain gauge, accelerometer and surveillance cameras. Accurate analysis results are obtained by preparing large training data sets. Data management system to accumulate and search information of measurement is also developed. Currently, data exchange platform to integrate diverse information is under development.

This paper introduces digital technology to support information exchange among various organizations and proactive response. Shared Information Platform for Disaster Management (SIP4D) is developed to realize automatic information conversion and function of synthesis of logic, which can contribute to smooth information exchange during disaster among related users in disater situations. Especially, information support to disaster site is emphasized. In addition to respond to disaters proactively, construction of management loop with automatic data collection and analysis to support decision making of organizations.
