Electrocardiograms were recorded by means of needle electrodes from 40 adult cats and 17 kittens lying on their right side under nembutal anesthesia. In order to investigate various leads of ECG, A-B lead, V
A lead, V
B lead, standard limb leads and augmented unipolar limb leads were adopted for recording. The results obtained are snmmarized as follows
1) ECG patterns recorded by A-B, V
A, V
B, II, III and aVF lead were almost constant, but those by the other leads were variable.
2) Even under anesthesia, the amplitudes of various waves in I, aVR, and aVL lead showed a large variation.
3) The results suggest that A-B lead may develop the clinical ECG of the cat.
4) The normal ranges of the duration, interval, and amplitude of waves in A-B lead are listed in Table 4.
