In this paper, we investigated and examined a retrospective and quantitative measurement method of the amount of individual elderly care at a dementia day-care center by video shots. At a day-care center, several care-staffs care in cooperation for several individuals at a time ceaselessly changing care levels and individuals. In such the situation, to measure elderly care, especially dementia care was difficult by the ordinal methods, except for the retrospective method using video shots. Analyzing measured data, it was able to present the time variations of care for one individual by several care staffs. The retrospective measurement enabled to propose one of standard care levels and shows the possibility to apply to a practical use for staff trainings or instructions. However, this retrospective measuring exhausted tremendous efforts to recognize and record care data. It is expected to design a support system to measure from video shots. The preliminary system on developing shows a possibility to decrease the load to record. And more, when some real time sensor systems which are under consideration by many researchers will be used in practice, the data provided from the sensor system will greatly helpful to the support system to retrospective method by video shots and will reduce the measuring load largely.
