A Communication between aged and child is effective to prevent an appearance and a progress of senile dementia. However, it is not effective if the child grow up under poor condition. Nowadays, connection between parents and child is not enough, since many parents are working together for living. So, most of parents do not know a location of their child. A new convenient method to monitor child behavior is developed. Parents are able to know the location of the child using the method. Crimes about the children are going to decrease, since the children are watched by the parents using the method. Personal Handyphone System(PHS)can be applied as an information-network to monitor the location. However, it is important to miniaturize a marker to be utilized for children. It is effective that a reduction of output power of the marker and a time control of oscillation. In this paper, a case of 1mW is simulated and analyzed. If the relay station detect a signal from a marker, the child can be watched. In the result, signal can be detected at zoo and residential area. The location of the child is displayed by the system. The child enjoy oneself or with friends under the monitor with love of one's parents.

Population of wheelchair users is increasing in Japan due to the rapidly aging society. Commercial wheelchairs had been either manual wheelchairs or powered wheelchairs when power assisted wheelchairs were put on the market a couple of years ago. Fitting has been done principally by dimensional information, but to choose a proper wheelchair among diversified wheelchairs, quantitative evaluation of propelling force is recommended. It will also help finding the dimension such as placement of rear-wheel axis. Wheelchairs for the evaluation have been developed, but they are for laboratory use only. In this study a prototype of anunwired portable wheelchair was developed for propelling force evaluation. Propelling force is detected in the form of torque with magnetostrictive sensor. Running speed and gradient of the road are also recorded on a memory card for the analysis on a personal computer. Besides fitting, the wheelchair can be used for rehabilitation training process and also wheelchair sports training. This paper describes mechanism, circuitry, data processing and measurement results of the youth and the elderly.

It has been suggested that local elastic moduli of soft biological tissues relate closely with their histology. An image analysis method is proposed in which structural components in histological images are classified based on their color tones to obtain area fraction values and the position of the center of gravity of each component. similarity between colors was determined with Mahalanobis'generalized distance in (R, G, B)color space from predetermined color tones. In the present analysis, several characteristic color tones representing various colors in the input histological image(24-bit color)were specified first by an operator. Then, in the region of interest the pixel which represented the smallest distance from a color tone was classified into this color tone. The difference between areas, extracted manually and automatically was less than 6.6%and on comparison these regions were found to be practically equal. Thus the accuracy of this method was deemed sufficient for further analysis.
