The single-resin-spacer type sealed insulating glass (SSIG) currently available on the market effectively improves thermal performance in terms of energy consumption beyond that provided by conventional sealed insulating glass normally used in houses and buildings. The durability of SSIG is evaluated conventionally by the JIS test, which includes tests for UV radiation at high temperature and humidity and cyclical heating and cooling. The time required to conduct this test is 120 days. The present study proposes a novel rapid evaluation method (AGC) for evaluating the durability of SSIG based on the adhesive durability between the glass and resin spacer. This new evaluation method requires only five days for the H type tension test before and after the combination of UV radiation, boiling at 95°C, and cyclical compression-tension tests.
