We developed the enthalpy functions of the EXCEL add-in for heat balance used in petroleum
and chemical processes, and it is effectively used for heat-balance analysis and new plant
visualization. Since the application range of this function on the low temperature side was about
-15 °C, the function was expanded to the low temperature region so that it could be used in LNG,
freezing processes, and hydrogen cooling storage facilities. In this paper, we explain how to extend
this EXCEL function to the low temperature region. And we show the possibility of calculation of
the amount of liquefaction according to the temperature / pressure of each component in the low
temperature region of hydrocarbons such as methane, ethane and propane, butane, and C5 + on
EXCEL. Additionally, the enthalpy calculation was extended to the low temperature region. It is
expected to be used in the future for historical data analysis, efficiency calculation, condition
monitoring, etc. that utilize the heat balance of equipment in the LNG / refrigeration / hydrogen
storage process.
