While our hospital is a teaching hospital of the inner city, assume island medical care one of the
important point medical care, and the interest of the resident in island medical care is high. From
these backgrounds, we conduct the island medical clinic training for an initial clinical resident from
2011. This time, we examined what residents learned through this training and what kind of effects
there were as the training, by a questionnaire method. Many residents received training after having
decided a future course and there was little implication to bring up a primary care physician, but
learned the importance of the connection with a primary care physician and a specialist and the
importance of regional cooperation. Residents rarely learn these things in the usual training, and it is
thought to be the significant training for the residents aiming at the specialist in each specialization.
We thought that it is the significant training for the residents who aim at the specialist.
