The two bottlenecks of traditional probe measurement, one is hard to avoid noise from coupling agent and the other one is raise spatial resolution by reducing contact area. This study is focused on wedge waves with applications in delay-line. Wedge waves are guided acoustic waves propagating along the tip of a wedge. Wedge waves has large motion amplitude at tip with small truncation, the wedge wave's velocity is fixed weather frequency varied and low energy attenuation. According the characteristic of wedge wave and vibration direction of particle, using ultrasound transducer and wedge to develop a new acoustic delay-line type with high signal-noise-ratio, approximate point-like contact area, without coupling agent and in/out-plane signal detection by different contact angle.

In this paper, we discussed the design of the ultrasonic WPT system, consisting of impedance-matched transducers, phononic-crystal structure, and the Schlieren optical measurement system. The transducers we designed show 60% energy-transmission efficiency at 1.2MHz. The phononic structure is designed via phonon-band analysis and fabricated by using 3D printer for controlling ultrasonic wave. The Schlieren optical measurement system is also designed for analyzing actual wave propagation in water at MHz regime without disturbing the wave propagation.

Cast iron is widely applied in a lot of fields industry. In particular, all of the machine tool's base is made of the cast iron. But residual stress is produced when Cast iron fabricate processing. The mechanical properties and structural components can be considerably influenced by residual stress. It's too much disadvantage of stuff that cause worst situation. In this paper, a non-destructive method of ultrasonic technique is monitored to detect different microstructure that to evaluate the effect of the matrix change, and then compare it to analysis. And also realize graphite size whether influence on material properties in cast iron or not.

Material properties of Zircaloy cladding can degrade substantially and threaten the fuel integrity while in nuclear reactor service at elevated temperature. Other than radiation exposure, precipitated hydrides are also shown to be responsible for hydrogen embrittlement of the claddings. A laser ultrasound technique (LUT) is used to measure the dispersions of guided waves propagating along the axial direction of the cladding tubes at different temperature environment. It is shown that the LUT is able to measure the dispersion curve of Zircaloy in the elevated temperature environment. The dispersion spectra shift towards the direction of lower frequency and lower velocity while the temperature increase. With the inversion procedure, material properties such as elastic modulus is successfully characterized in various elevated temperature. The Young's modulus is found to decrease linearly as the temperature increasing. This research is focuses on the characterization of material properties, elastic moduli in particular, at elevated temperatures for Zircaloy cladding tubes of various hydrogen concentrations (H.C.).

This paper presented a new system based on one-bit signal processing for detecting the position of an object in three-dimensions space. The system composed of one speaker and four sound receivers. The object position was measured by a distance, the angle of elevation, and the angle of azimuth, between the sound source and the object. The system was designed to support real-time and low-cost applications. The experimental results can confirm the validity of the proposed system.

In the reflection point search by rectangular sound sources, the linear array sound source with small number of elements was introduced. In this study, the linear array sound source with three elements was used, and the overall dimension of the linear array sound source was equal to the dimension of the conventional single rectangular sound source. Calculation results of the correlation coefficient showed that a conspicuous fluctuation was suppressed at some set reflection points, and some improved search results were obtained by the proposed sound source. However, in the case where the reflection point is located near the sound source, there was no noticeable improvement in search results.

The dynamic model of the center of an earthquake quake was shown, and the effectiveness was confirmed for four recent earthquakes. In addition, the transition radiation theory and the analytical result are compared to confirm the effectiveness of the dynamic model, and the qualitative coincidence was obtained.
