In this study, in order to examine the heat stimulus caused by HIFU transducer for dermatology on human tissue, the temperature elevation in the tissue mimicking phantom was visualized when the ultrasound was radiated while a small sized HIFU transducer moved on the surface of the phantom. As the results, the temperature elevation degree and range could be obtained for different acoustic energy and moving interval when the HIFU transducer moved on linear path. Using suggested method, the accumulated thermal energy distribution in human tissue caused by ultrasound can be estimated non-invasively, and it would provide important information to design the transducer and to estimate remedial value.

In this study, a temperature visualization method with a tissue mimicking phantom was proposed. For the experiment, a tissue mimicking phantom was fabricated with carrageenan gel, which has high transparency for the visualization and also, of which acoustic characteristics are similar to those of human tissue. The thermochromic film was set on the surface including the acoustic axis, and the temperature elevations caused by the plane and the focused ultrasounds was visualized noninvasively. The visualized image provided quantitative data of the temperature elevation in the phantom through an image processing method. The results showed good agreement with the calculated results by using the bio-heat transfer equation with Fourier transformation.

This paper presents a new approach to monitoring and controlling the distribution substations for the power generators in shallow waters combining the underwater acoustic communication (UAC) system. This system makes use of both UAC and underwater power line communication (UPLC) by means of binary phase shift keying (BPSK) of code division multiple access (CDMA) with Hadamard code, in order to accomplish the smart grid of distribution automation system. The system can be used to evaluate the performance of bit error rate (BER) value in terms of the transmitted distance and the transmitted signal power.

Adaptive time reversal was applied to multiuser communication in the deep ocean and its effectiveness of crosstalk cancellation was demonstrated with experimental data. As results, in all cases, it was shown that adaptive time reversal has better performance than other methods.

This research focused on characterization of mechanical properties in Nickel-Aluminum coating with different thermal technique and processing parameters at high temperature environment up to 295℃. With the laser ultrasound technique (LUT), guided acoustic waves are generated to propagate on the Ni-Al sprayed coatings. By measuring dispersive phase velocity followed by SCE-UA inversion algorithm. The Young's modulus of coatings which fabricated by HVOF technique is higher than APS technique.
