About 7:30-8:30 a.m., Dec. 22, a fairy number of Cirrochroa imperatrix flew one after another in the same direction, 0.5 to 1 metre high above the ground, downwards on a grassy slope, crossing a lane to dive into bushes. In the afternoon one specimen came to rest on a leaf of tree about two meters high. When I approached it, it escaped by rapid and powerful flight, quite unusual for a species of Cirrochroa, which generally flies slowly.
