Kanazoshi "Uraminosuke" has been studied from various points of view, and it can be regarded as one of the typical novels in the early stage of modern literature when it's reconsidered as a work within which there are immature complexities. And when we understand that the immature complexities are derived from the relationship of the author, who is supposed to be an aristocrat, with "the age of melange", I think "Uraminosuke" can be realized as one of the novels which symbollze the characteristics of the period and the history described in Kanayzoshi.

『鉢かづき』では、女主人公の実母は、娘に「鉢」を与える存在として重要である。「鉢」に仮託して、霊的存在として、娘を結婚にまで導く。男主人公を観察し、婿として認知する。「継子譚」の要素は、作品の根幹をなすものではない。享受者の嗜好を満たし、実母子の絆を示す効果をもつ。また、観音の霊験は形式的なものであり、娘の幸福を完成させる母の庇護に転化されている。『鉢かづき』は、婿選びによる母子愛の物語である。
