In recent years, over 40-year-old scuba divers account for a large portion of scuba diving accidents. Especially, accidents over 40s are almost 100% connected to death accidents. In this way, it is necessary to have an environment where training of scuba can be done easily and safely. In this paper, we propose a wearable type of Underwater VR system. As an initial stage, we developed an Underwater Head Mounted Display (UHMD) prototype system which can resist water and pressure for training system of scuba diving. This system has two functions. One is high immersion feeling the underwater. The other one is to reproduce buoyancy change according to water depth. For these function, user can learn how to control buoyancy under various situations with high reality. The results showed that water resistant performance of UHMD system is enough for use at a depth of about 1.3 meters.

本研究では,人為的に惑星の環境を変化させ,地球のような人の住める星に改造するテラフォーミングを題材とし,火星を対象にテラフォーミング・シミュレーション結果をグラフィカルに可視化・模擬する.これにより,シミュレーション結果を専門家でなくても分かるように表示することが可能となり,SF等を題材としたゲーム構想を練る際の参考資料となることを目的とする.リアルタイム可視化を通して,火星の変化を見ることで,テラフォーミングをより実感できる.

In order to investigate the periodicity of the appearance and disappearance of fish at-tracted around an underwater lamp, the change of volume of fish in the illuminated area was measured by using scanning sonar and fish finder.
The biggest volume was recorded between 2 and 3 o'clock. After that, the volume showed a decreasing tendency at astronomical twilight time before sunrise regardless of the low light intensity (10
-2-10
-3lx).
The authors think that the preparation of the fish to adapt to light stimulation in that time, when the retinal rhythm of fish shows a distribution intermediate between dark- and light-adaptation, caused the approach to the underwater lamp by the fish.
The time (astronomical twilight time) of disappearance of fish from the lamp suggests the threshold for retina in the fish attracted around the underwater lamp.

In this study, we attempted to solve two problems in existing underwater experience systems that can reproduce arbitrary underwater situations: 1) marker recognition is interrupted at certain points and 2) the image delay of the HMD. The verification results showed that the average number of recognized markers increased with the length of the spacer, and position measurement was possible without interruption. The delay associated with the capture rate of motion capture was reduced. These results suggest that the biological effects of image delay and reduced immersion during virtual underwater training can be reduced, and it is expected that long duration underwater training will become possible.

Spatial disorientation (SD) is a false perception of position, motion or attitude by the pilots, and the
largest risk factor for fatal accidents. Prevention of SD is difficult. Early realization and withdrawal
from SD using instrument flight is the best way to prevent accidents.
To prevent accidents due to SD, aircraft’s systems have been developed, and SD training have been conducted.
Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS) provides pilots with visual and auditory warning.
Automated Ground Collision Avoidance System (Auto GCAS) recovers flight attitude automatically
when aircraft goes near into the ground. Spatial Orientation Retention Device (SORD) is multi-sensory
warning system. Tactile Situation Awareness System (TSAS) gives vibration to the pilots to indicate
pilot’s posture. Three Dimensional Landing Zone (3D-LZ) System projects view of landing zone to the
cockpit even in bad weather.
In this study, we collected information related to SD training among 21 military forces belong 17
countries. SD training usually includes lecture and experience learning. Pilots receive initial training
and periodic training in 17/21 forces. Average frequency was 4 years (range: 6 months to 6 years).
Japan Air Self-Defense Force has not conducted periodic SD training. The way of experience with SD
is use of simulator similarly JASDF or in-flight demonstration. The simulator training is lower cost and
safer than the in-flight training.
To maintain and develop aircraft’s systems and SD training is continuously necessary.

インクジェットやマイクロカプセルなど,微小な液体を扱う技術が注目を集める中,そうした微小領域での液体のレオロジー特性を知る必要性が増している。ところが,ずり速度や表面効果がバルクとは大きく異なるという微小液体のもつ特殊性ゆえに,従来のレオロジー測定法では適正な測定を行うことは難しいのが現状であり,微小な液体に対する新しいレオロジー測定法,すなわちナノレオロジー測定法の開発が要求されている。ナノレオロジー計測法に関する基礎技術として,最新のバルクおよび表面に対するレオロジー測定法を解説し,さらにインクジェット技術を利用した微小液滴のレオロジー測定について述べた。

Autonomously working small fish robots are ideal for surveys of fish resources and underwater structural inspections where electric wires hinder the movement of the robot or where radio signals, such as GPS, cannot be received. For practical usage, the fish robot needs to estimate its self-position to swim autonomously in water. Using visual information from images taken from the bottom facing camera, self-position estimation becomes possible. Digital image correlation and tracking method is often used to measure deformation or strain of material and visualization of flow in water. Although self-position estimation of aquatic robots becomes possible when this method is applied, microcomputers (PIC, H8, AVR etc.) cannot be used for the digital image correlation method since they are unable to perform the calculations in real-time. In this study, self-position estimation was tested utilizing the real-time digital image correlation method by using a FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array). VHDL programming for FPGA and the FPGA equipped circuit board have been originally developed. This FPGA board executes both the control of the swimming fish robot and image processing at the same time. Results confirm that the small fish robot can measure swimming distance by itself.

It is known that when the contexts at the encoding and the retrieval match, retrieval performance improves, and when they do not match, retrieval performance declines. This effect is called the reinstatement effect. In this study, we used two spherical images and manipulated the environmental context at encoding and retrieval using virtual reality. The number of words recalled in free recall test was compared in a two-factor within-subjects design like Godden & Baddeley (1975), and no reinstatement effect was found. In addition, there was a positive correlation between presence measured by IPQ and number of words recalled. The results are discussed in terms of the mental context of the virtual reality experiences, which is distinguished from that of real experiences.
