Economics courses typically exclude any discussion of values and value judgments. This is most likely due to the notion that economics is a science, and science does not depend on one’s values. However, this point of view has been disproved by Sen and Putnam. Ethical issues are frequently encountered in economics and economics educational curricula should cover this topic, since students will face difficult choices in understanding various economic scandals as well as when learning about subjects such as poverty and inequality. In this paper, I propose a lesson plan focused on providing ethical content in economics education, based on ethical pluralism. The paper is summarized as follows:
First,I develop a lesson plan for including ethics in economic education, focusing on ethical pluralism. Second, the lesson plan is organized by active-learning. Third, a teaching method is constructed using a four-step process for ethical decision-making.
