本稿は、2016年8月にフィンランドとドイツで実施した調査にもとづいたものである。前半では「ヨーロッパの産学連携」と題して、フィンランドのイノベーション基盤とドイツの産学連携で重要な役割を果たしているフラウンホーファー研究機構について紹介する。後半では「変貌するレガシー欧州企業」と題して、欧州を代表する大企業の戦略転換や組織改革について紹介する。まず、フィンランドのノキアが、端末部門のマイクロソフトへの売却など大規模なリストラの後どのように高収益企業に変貌しつつあるかについて紹介する。また、ドイツのシーメンスが、全社R&D組織を中心にして、Industry 4.0やIoT時代にどのように取り組もうとしているかについて述べる。

PEP (the study group of Practical English for Pharmacists) was started by teachers from different fields at Hokkaido Pharmaceutical University, and has been offering English conversation class for local pharmacists. As with its turning point of three years, in January 2016, it conducted an online questionnaire survey for pharmacists all over Japan. The purpose was to find their needs for learning English, as well as to make sure if PEP teaching materials were proper enough for them. The questionnaires consisted of five areas: current working situation in terms of using English; self-evaluation for their attitudes towards English-speaking customers/ patients; their preference in learning English; their foresight into the English-related situation around their job; and evaluation on PEP sample materials. Participants were 220 pharmacists at work who were interested in learning English. They were divided into two groups (Yes-group and No-group) according to the answer to the question of whether they, as a pharmacist, thought it necessary to learn English or not. The groups were compared with each other within each of the five areas mentioned above. The results showed the overall illustrations of the pharmacists today and positive evaluation for a PEP material. Most importantly, however, contrastive difference between Yes-No groups for the type of English needed was revealed (p<0.01). This was interpreted as an evidence that No-group just have a naive intention to learn English, while Yes-group have already been involved in the situations where rather high English proficiency is required for their pharmacy jobs.

上顎犬歯の異所萌出は,小児歯科の臨床でもしばしば観察される.しかし,上顎犬歯における遠隔移転歯の症例は少ない.今回筆者らは,上顎左側犬歯が上顎左側第一大臼歯の近心まで転位した症例を診察する機会を得た.患者は,11歳0か月の女児で,学校検診において上顎左側犬歯の異所萌出を指摘され,同部の精査を希望して来院した.既往歴に特記すべき事項は無く,歯の外傷や全身的疾患は認められなかった.口腔内所見では,上顎左側乳犬歯の残存が認められ,上顎左側犬歯が,第一大臼歯の近心頬側より萌出しており,第二小臼歯を口蓋側に移動させていた.第一大臼歯の咬合関係は,左右AngleI級であり,overjetは4.Omm,over biteは5.Ommであった.上下顎の正中線はほぼ一致していた.しかし,患児には叢生が認められ,歯列周長分析を行ったところ,上顎-7.Omm,下顎-11.2mmのarch length discrepancy が認められた.そこで,上顎左側犬歯を前方へ誘導すると共に,上下顎左右第一小臼歯を抜去し治療を行った.動的治療は,3年5か月で終了し,根の吸収など異常所見は認められなかった.

Two cases of abnormal root resorption in permanent teeth caused by an ectopic eruption of the canines are presented. In case 1, the patient was an 11-year-old female. Three quarters of the root of the upper central incisors were resorpted due to an abnormal location of the bilateral maxillary canines. In case 2, the patient was a 12-year-old female. One half of the root of the upper central and lateral incisors were resorpted due to an ectopic eruption of the left canine.
The findings and treatment procedures were as follows:
1. In case 1, after the bilateral central incisors were extracted, the canine was carefully guided into the position of the central incisor.
2. In case 2, considering oral esthetics, the canine was guided into its normal position. In the middle of treatment, the lateral incisor was extracted because of interference in guiding the canine.
3. The main reason of the ectopic eruption of the maxillary canine was probably not a discrepancy between the tooth material and the basal arch length but the improper position of the tooth germ or the abnormal eruption process of the canine.
4. Root resorption of the incisor caused by ectopic eruption of the canine in the jaw causes severe problems. If such a case is found in an early stage, it is important to consider the direction of eruption and stage of development of the canine and to guide the canine into its normal position.

両側性の上顎犬歯および第一小臼歯の移転歯を伴う症例を経験し，満足し得る結果が得られたので，その概要を報告する．症例は15歳の男性で乳歯の残存および両側性の移転歯を認めた．移転歯部分の配列について，本来の順番である犬歯，第一小臼歯の順に配列することは，当該歯，および隣在歯歯根等への影響を考慮するとリスクが高いと判断し，移転したままの状態で配列することとした．しかし，審美的観点，咬合機能的観点，歯周組織の観点，隣接歯歯根状態に，良好な結果が得られた．移転歯の治療には本来の配列に修正することが可能か否か，どのようなメカニクスで配列を行うか，さらにその予後について，十分な検討が必要であると認識した．

9歳11ヵ月女児に,上顎両側犬歯の萌出異常が認められ,左側のみ側切歯歯根吸収が著しく,抜歯を余儀なくされた症例を経験した。そこで,本症例の臨床所見および治療経過を述べるとともに,側切歯歯根吸収の原因を推察し,さらに切歯歯根部の異常吸収に対する診査の要点などを検討し,以下の結論を得た.
1.上顎左側側切歯歯根吸収については,犬歯の萌出異常と短期間で生じた急速な傾斜,嚢胞の存在,さらに前歯の短根傾向とが重複していたことが原因であると考えられた.
2.上顎両側犬歯の萌出異常は,歯と顎骨の不調和,いわゆるdiscrepancyに起因するものではなかった。
3. 10歳頃,口腔内診査を行い,犬歯歯冠部の位置が確認できない場合や位置異常がある場合,また側切歯の傾斜などがみられる場合は,歯根吸収の危険性を考慮し,パノラマエックス線写真などのレントゲン診査を行う必要があると思われた。
4.パノラマエックス線写真で,犬歯歯冠部が著しく近心位にあり,その歯軸傾斜が近心に強い場合には,注意深い観察が必要である。また可能であれば,犬歯と切歯の位置関係および切歯の歯根吸収の位置と程度を確認するために,断層エックス線写真撮影を行うことが好ましいと思われた。
