Most studies, however have not focused global image. It is reasonable to suppose that have not systematic research in environmental design and planning for ALS.
The following are procedures in studies by questionnaire and interview. We examined the data taken from a wide range of ALS groups. The interview experiments serve to strengthen it follows from the questionnaire.
The result of our experiment clearly shows that is important existence of a care worker. Although this may be true, there were too many question items. The primary consideration in this study should be complement interview.
The classification of a room name was the state of affairs in the room aiming at sleeping is used from the start, or not. It is reasonable to suppose that the ADL is performed at the bedroom as a physical disability becomes serious, from the investigation both of questionnaire and interview.

Public procurement for build environment is the issue which is important but controversial. The works are expected to achieve well organized circumstance with saving budget. Especially, in recent Japan, it is becoming more difficult, because they have to set up new condition to prepare the aging society under the huge pressure of cutting budget. The former part of this paper explains that the recent situation of the procurement for public building in Japan to compare with other country, such as France and UK. The later part of the paper points out some important issues to overcome these difficulties with referring some practices in the reconstruction works from the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011.

This paper aims to grasp the architectuaI knowledge to make a support policy to drama companies in Japan. We selected three research areas (Kansai, Sendai and Kitakyuusyu). The reharsal spaces where they occupy are distinguished three types. To classify the companies, we use two factors, times of performance a year and the collabolation types in creation of performance. The results show that. 1) The rate of the companies what occupy any reharsal spaces, is about 50% in Kansai and Sendai but the rate of those is under 10% in Kitakyuusyu. 2) The companies' needs in creation of performance are various each class and the situation of those cIasses are different each area.

This research based on current image and future image about private spaces as children's homes. As a result, characteristics concerning room image are brought together. If life style is different, room image is different. Structures of current image are thought as base of ‘activity of daily life’. Structures of future image are thought as base of better life. Finally, in future image, unit care system facilities are located in the middle of conventional large-type care facilities and ordinary homes. If room image elements of ordinary homes are reflected to children's homes, better living space will be provided for residents.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the space which has a role of encouraging users’ independence in Self-Support Home. A variety of building types and capacities were found which relate with staff’s concepts of supporting. As a result of comparing with a child welfare facility, we found it important to prepare enough public spaces for talking with staff as well as user’s single room for privacy. Also, it is required to choose appropriate room for each activity in order to realize the concept.

To clarify the cultural situation of "Culture Halls" , we adopt the classification with the condition of the perfoming categories at halls ,that of the municipalities and the regions' classification. 1. The rate of "multipurpose-use type", 21.7%, is highest that of other types, with the condition of the performaing categories at halls. 2. The percentage of persons engaged in the theater/concert hall going in the regions interrelate with that of the halls' classification with performaing arts' condition there. 3. The condition of performance at halls weren't only depend on the population and the centrality of the municipalities but also the character of the area, such as the regions' classification.

In Japan, the Accounting Law has had a strong influence on public procurements including architect selection, and the proposal method has just begun to spread. However, its implementation has been supported by the personal efforts of the person in charge. In this paper, with the interview to the key person who has been struggling for good architect-selection and analyzed the process on practice. As a result, we confirmed the importance of the following three points: requirement-briefing, selection-committee, and creating opportunities for proposals. On the other hand, this know-how was based on his experience in many departments as a prefectural official.

Though the number of children is decreasing in Japan, the rolls of the children's welfare institutions are becoming comprehensive and interactive more. To solve those problems, the institution have to adopt some devices in their planning process. This paper describes actual situation and effectiveness of architectural methods in the process based on our practices at the renewal project of the children's welfare facility, such as arrangements of the condition of the planning to get enterprise in existing systems, surveys to grasp potential needs of the children and the stuff and coordination for the workshops involving the children and the neighborhood.

The aim of this study is to evaluate ‘regional self-life ability’ from the view point of city resources and regional activities in elementary school districts of Toyohashi city. On this research, ability to management shelters without support from others at the time of disaster is defined ‘regional self-life ability’. The former, Sendai city Miyagi pref. and Toyohashi city Aichi pref. was refered as cases for site survey. As a result, actually almost all city resources are not engaged to regional activities in an elementary school district. It’s important to effectively use city resources other than those specified shelter like schools at the time of disaster. It’s considered that regional self-life ability is advanced by management plan and regional activities considering land conditions of the region and city resources.

これまでに建設されたリビングアクセス型住宅は，リビング，サニタリー，個室の平面構成から8類型に分けられ，類型ごとにフロンテージが大きくなるほど，リビングの縦長比が小さくなることを示した。さらに，フロンテージには限界値が存在すること，リビングには内包された動線空間であるSC（シャドー・コリドー）領域が発生すること，「居（普段の生活で落ち着いて居る場所）」の向きには，フロンテージと外部への眺望が影響を与え，「居」の位置には，冬至の日射の位置が関係している可能を示した。

This thesis aims at estimating the program, capacity and size of necessary spaces of public facilities for the modern performing arts at the early stage of the facility planning. Concretely through the analysis of new 13 examples of public facilities for the performing arts we proposed the method of estimating not only the size of each necessary spaces but also the total floor area by piling up the needed functional spaces.

Now, a lot of "culture halls" are still being constructed and planed in cities. Although there is some confidence that a newly-established culture hall would influence the situation of existing culture halls in the same city, there are few studies and little knowledge about this. The purpose of this paper is to grasp the change of the situation of culture hall utilization after a newly-established culture hall's opening. Sendai city was selected as a survey field. The results are summarized as follow; Since the newly-established concert hall opened, a large number of classical music concerts held in the city moved from existing multipurpose halls to the newly-established concert hall. Almost all of them were promoted by lesson classes or schools. As a result, some multipurpose halls changed their character to "lecture halls".

本研究では, 地方都市における多目的ホールの主たる利用者である文化団体の活動, 多目的ホールの評価について調査を行い, ホール利用の連携について, その問題点, 役割等を整理・検討し, 文化団体活動と多目的ホール利用を活性化する方策を検討することを目的とする。その結果,(1) 多目的ホールの発表活動における積極的活用,(2) 情報面を含めた他市町村施設との連携強化,(3) 文化活動の底辺拡大による文化団体活動の活性化,(4) 支援体制の強化,(5) 整合性のとれた文化行政の実行が必要と考えられる。

This paper clarifies the actual situation that construction temporary housing was organized into three phases. The number of temporary housing units to be constructed was estimated based on the unimaginable damage, and when the required number of units could not be constructed on public land, private land was utilized, but this created many problems at the time of demolition. The survey also revealed that the local government was focused on providing quick reconstruction assistance to the victims, although it was necessary to have a sufficient plan.

This study aims to evaluate architectural space quantitatively based on visual sequence. In this paper, we propose a computational analysis method of a visual field along a walking path by using a virtual reality display. To analyze a visual sequence in an existing architecture, we measured the changes of the indices that are the geometric characteristics of a visual field based on the isovist theory. In addition, a virtual reality display, which employs a wide range view angle and a head-tracking system, enabled us to measure the relation between the visual field and the head motion.

本稿は、1995年度を対象年度として実施したアンケート調査をもとに、公立文化施設における運営経理の現状を把握し、全国的な状況を明らかにするとともに、今後のあり方について考察するものである。また、公立文化施設における支出と収入の構造を把握し、民間の劇場との違いを明らかにすることをねらうものである。分析の結果、施設の条件の違いによって運営経理の傾向が大きく異なっている状況を読み解くことができた。

This study aimed to consider the possibility of the residential environment improvement for the deinstitutionalization of child care institutions with the basic recognition that child well-being must be unitary with the community. As a result of the group interviews to people who had lived in the child care institution, the questionnaire to institutions in Japan, and the case study of Hope Meadows in the United States, it has become clear the following points at issue; 1) Person who had lived in the child care institution is conscious of peculiar manners and the sense of values acquired by life in the facility. 2) The physical situation of surroundings of the facility brings a big influence to the construction of child's interpersonal relationship and the training of sociability and cooperation. 3) A multi-generational neighborhood that supports families who have adopted children from foster care has been realized by the conversion of a existing residential area.

This study revealed the living manner in an institution with an infant unit by examining space and behavior, with a focus on individual occupants. We then examined how the planning of a children’s home influences their living style. As a result of the study, we discovered: 1) the importance of planning a dining kitchen area in the middle of each unit as a common area for staff members; 2) the necessity to examine the size and style of bedrooms according to the developmental stage of the occupants; 3) the necessity to provide spaces for playing and relaxation; 4) the importance of providing individual storage in respect of each occupant’s privacy; 5) the importance of doing housework within the unit.
