    Anodizing aluminum in a mixture of maleic acid-sulfuric acid at constant current densities frequently causes pittings in the coatings. However, the initial two-step current control, under which the current density was first raised to 0.5A./dm2 in 1 minute, kept at the current density for another 1 minute and finally raised to the specified range of 1 to 3A/dm2 in 1 minute, was able to prevent pittings and coatings of uniform thickness and color were obtained. This is interpreted that at the low current densities, the structual change from initial barrier layer to porous layer takes place through the slow dissolution of the barrier layer. Thus by anodizing aluminum for 30 minutes in a mixture containing 250g/l maleic acid and 3.0 to 6.0g/l H2SO4, colored coatings of various tones from light yellow to dark brown were obtained and they did not contain any defects. Colors of the coatings so obtained were found to correspond to the content of SO42- incorporated into the films. The more the amount of SO42- increased, the lighter the color of coatings decreased.

    The effects of additives and super-heated water vapor treatment on the composition and structure of boehmite films were studied by measurement of weight changes, X-ray diffractiometry, thermal analysis, infrared spectra, and measurement of impedance. Al specimens of 99.85 and 99.99% in purity were Pretreated and dipped in boiling baths of 0.03-0.15mol triethanol amine, diethyl amine, and monoethyl amine for 0-60min. After the boiling treatment, some specimens were treated in super-heated water vapor at 4kg/cm2 for 30min. The following results were obtained: (1) The effects of amines as additives were remarkable: the weight of coated film was 10-15 times as large as that in case of no amine additives. The super-heated water vapor treatment resulted in the increase in the coated weight of boehmite films. (2) Bayerite was not generally contained in boehmite films having been formed in boiling water and various amine solutions; but some of boehmite badly crystallized was often contained. Such boehmite films produced would be assumed to be pseudo-boehmite, because of containing hydrate with 1.7-1.9 H2O per Al2O3. (3) The crystallization of boehmite films was not developed by the super-heated water vapor treatment. However, the hydration degree decreased to 1.5-1.6 H2O per Al2O3 and the impedance of the films increased. (4) It was considered that boehmite films consisted of thin, but dense inner layer adjacent to the metal and a thicker and more permeable outer layer; the former was mainly composed of monohydrate and the latter of hydroxide. (5) It was also considered that the corrosion resistance of boehmite films depended upon the film thickness and the amount of monohydrate.

    低用量 (50mg/day) のスピロノラクトン (商品名アルダクトンA (R)) 内服療法により, 9例の女性口囲皮膚炎患者の治療を試みた. 9例中2例は倦怠感のため投与中止したが, 治療期間4-12週にて著効1例, 有効3例, やや有効3例と7例中4例に有効以上の治療効果を示した. また治療前の本患者の血中男性ホルモン動態を同年齢分布の健常女性9例と比較検討した. 血中testosterone (T), free testosterone (FT), dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S) 値は健常群と有意差を認めなかったが, 本症のdihydrotestosterone (DHT) 値は健常群に比し, 有意 (P<0.05) に高値を示した. 以上よりスピロノラクトン内服療法が口囲皮膚炎に対して有用な治療法の1つになり得ると考えられ, また本症の病態が血中男性ホルモンと密接な関係があることが示唆された.

    男性結核患者12例を対象に, 抗結核剤服用前後の血中luteinizing hormone (LH), estrone (E1), estradiol (E2), total testosterone (T), free testosterone (FT), dihydrotestosterone (DHT), dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S) の7種類のホルモンをRIAにて測定し, 座瘡様発疹の病因との関連について検討した。血中LH, E1, FT, DHT, DHEA-Sに有意ある変動を認めなかったが, Tの有意の上昇とE2の有意の低下を認めた。この結果よりチトクロームP-450依存性である肝の代謝酵素活性の阻害と皮膚アロマターゼ活性の低下が推測され, また血中性ホルモンの変動が座瘡様発疹発症の基盤の1つになっている可能性があると考えられた。

    In order to establish the mechanism of coloring process, the anodic oxide film obtained in a mixture of maleic acid and sulfuric acid was investigated by utilizing visible and infrared spectra, E.S.R. spectrum and E.P.M.A. The film obtained in a bath containing 250g/l maleic acid and 0.8g/l H2SO4 included a variety of organic compounds derived from maleic acid, and also presented a dark amber tone from the initial period of anodizing. If the content of H2SO4 increased to 1.8-4.4g, the color turned darker as the anodizing proceeded, because the organic compounds incorporated into the film increased as the bath voltage rose. In a bath of 6.0g/l H2SO4 and maleic acid, on the other hand, the anodic oxide film was almost colorless like the oxide film obtained by sulfuric acid anodizing. From these facts the following mechanism has been proposed. (1) Coloring of the anodic oxide film is caused by the organic compounds produced by polymerization or complicated reactions of maleic acid incorporated into the film. This is the same process as the conventional oxalic acid film is colored. (2) Increase of negative bisulfate ion in the bath prevents the negative ion from migrating into the film, because bisulfate ion migrates into the film more easily than ion and, therefore, the color tone of the film tends to be lighter.

    座瘡発症機序における男性ホルモンの作用を検討する一環として女性瘡患者29例に芍薬甘草湯を 12週間投与しその前後における血中testosterone (T), free testosterone (FT), dihydrotestosterone (DHT), dehydoepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S), sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) の変動と臨床症状の効果を検討した。血中T, DHT, DHEA-S, SHBG値に有意の変動を認めなかったが, 血中FTは有意に低下した。また臨床効果判定では29例中18例に中等度以上の症状改善と脂漏の改善を認めた。以上の結果より有薬甘草湯が血中FTの低下に作用し皮脂量を抑制することにより, 瘡の改善をもたらす可能性が示唆された。

    Oxidation of aluminum was carried out with anodizing current of various electric wave forms in 250g/l maleic acid containing 3-4g/l H2SO4.
    The coatings obtained with low ripple percent wave forms such as direct current and three-phase full-wave were uniform in thickness and color. The higher ripple percent wave forms were apt to cause the abnormally grown multiple layers and the burning. In the case of single-phase half-wave having the highest ripple percent, the abnormally grown multiple layers were easily formed at the early stage of anodizing and the uniform coating was never obtained.
    The deepness of color and coating ratio were affected by H2SO4 concentration and current density, and the color became deeper and the coating ratio increased with the increase of ripple percentage. The hardness of the uniform coating obtained was in the range of Hv(0.05)521 to 537 which was much higher than Hv(0.05)449 of the hard anodic coating obtained in 0°C 15% H2SO4.

    座瘡患者の視床下部-下垂体機能を検討するため, 女性座瘡患者26例と硬結嚢腫型の男性座瘡患者7例LH-RH (luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone), TRH (thyroid releasing hormone) 負荷試験を行し, 血中 luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), prolactin (PRL), thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) の反応を健常群との比較について検討した。
    女性例では座瘡群の血中LH, FSH, TSH値の負荷前値と負荷後値は正常群との比較において有意差をめなかった。しかし, 血中PRL値は負荷前値は有意差は認めなかったが, 負荷後15分値と30分値は健群に比し有意ある高値を示した。男性例では座瘡群の血中PRL, FSH, TSH値の負荷前値と負荷後値健常群に比し有意差を認めなかった。しかし血中LH値は負荷前値は有意差は認めなかったが, 負荷後分値と30分値は有意ある高値を示した。以上よりこのLH-RH, TRH負荷試験による視床下部-下垂体おける反応亢進はその生理学的意味については不明であるが, 座瘡発症と何らかの関係があることが示唆された。

    Effects of additional alloying elements on electrochemical properties and corrosion resistance of Al-1% Zn, Al-0.03% In, Al-0.1% In and Al-0.1% Sn alloy rolled sheets were examined. Al-Sn alloy was the nost less-noble and the least corrosion resistant among the binary alloys. The addition of Cu, Si or Mn made pitting potential of all the alloys noble, while that of Mg or Fe gave little effect. Corrosion resistance greatly decreased with the addition of more than 0.3% Zn in Al-In alloys. Al-Sn and Al-In alloys containing a small amount of Zn can be excellent sacrificial anodes with good corrosion resistance.

    座瘡発生機序における性ホルモンの役割を検討する一環としてメサルモンF錠 (2錠/日) を女性座瘡患者8名に約8週間投与し, その前後における血中cortisol (F), progesterone (P4), testosterone (T), androstenedione (Δ4), dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), dihydrotestosterone (DHT) を測定した。臨床効果判定では8例中1例 (12.5%) に著効, 1例 (12.5%) に有効, 5例 (62.5%) にやや有効を認め, 特に面皰, 皮疹において顕著であった。
    血中ホルモン値の変動に関してはF, P4には変動はなく, T, Δ4, DHEAは上昇, DHTは減少の傾向を認めたが有意差は得られなかった。メサルモンF錠は尋常性座瘡の内分泌面からの治療薬として試みてよい薬剤と考えられた。

    We investigated the corrosion mechanism of the aluminum condenser on the basis of electrochemical measurement for automotive air conditioning system in actual use environment where large amounts of antifreezing admixture were sprayed in winter. It was concluded that corrosion occurred in the following two steps: At the first step, repetition of adhesion and drying of the salt water caused to form a chloride ion concentration cell in the water droplet and then corrosion started on the surface of the condenser tubes. At the second step, the pits with the aspect ratio (= depth of pit/surface diameter of pit) larger than 1, which was generated in the first step, proceeded further and pH decreased by concentrating hydrochloric acid content at the bottom of the pits, leading to the growth of the pits.

    The electrode impedance of pure aluminum and Al-Zn alloys have been measured at 103Hz under potentiostatic-cathodic polarization. The cathodic current density for reduction of dissolved oxygen on pure aluminum is smaller than that on Al-Zn alloys, but hydrogen overvoltage for the former is larger than that of the latter. At potentials more noble than the hydrogen evolution potential, the oxygen reduction reaction seems to occur at local cathodes on the electrode and the ratio of the area of local cathodes to the whole surface of the electrode changes with time of polarization. At potentials less noble than the hydrogen evolution potential, the cathodic reduction of oxygen and hydrogen ion proceeds simultaneously and the dissolution of surface oxide films occurs together with the evolution of hydrogen. Under cathodic polarization, the surface of Al-Zn alloys appeared to be black but no significant color change occurs with the surface of pure aluminum. AES analysis showed that the black surface layer contains aluminum, zinc and oxygen with no detectable impurities such as iron and silicon.

    During corrosion tests on aluminum specimens in natural or synthetic sea-water, pitting corrosion of the surfaces occurs. Except for the local sites of pitting, however, the formation of a milk white film is generally observed. In regions covered with this film, pitting corrosion hardly occurs even if the corrosion test is continued for a prolonged period. Based on this observation, it was attempted to obtain corrosion-resistant conversion coatings by utilizing sea-water or solutions containing selected compounds of sea-water.
    The following results were obtaind.
    (1) When aluminum specimens were dipped in boiling ASTM sea-water, a uniform conversion coating was formed on their surfaces. The coating was found to consist of two distinct layers: an outer layer containing magnesium and aluminum, and an inner dense layer containing only aluminum.
    (2) Magnesium chloride, sodium hydrogen carbonate and sodium sulfate were found to be essential in obtaining uniform, corrosion resistant conversion coatings.
    (3) The corrosion resistance of the conversion coatings formed in ASTM synthetic sea-water was found to be better than that of boehmite films commonly used for the corrosion-protection in aluminum heat exchangers.

    痤瘡は精神的ストレスにより増悪することが知られている.ストレス時にはcorticotropin-releasing hormone(CRH)が増加し,視床下部―下垂体―副腎皮質系が亢進する.われわれは痤瘡患者における,主に視床下部―下垂体系の機能を検討するため,思春期後の女性痤瘡患者13例を健常者8例と比較しCRH試験を行った.CRH試験により痤瘡患者の血中cortisol(F)とdehydroepiandrosterone(DHEA)の基礎値,頂値,変動値はいずれも異常を認めなかったが,DHEAの血中濃度曲線下面積であるareaunder the curve(AUC)は低かった.また,痤瘡患者の血中adrenocorticotropic hormone(ACTH)値は頂値と変動値に有意差はなかったが,基礎値とAUCはいずれも健常群に比し,有意ある高値を認めた.また,痤瘡群13例中3例は,CRHに対してACTH値の反応亢進を認めた.しかし,痤瘡患者のdehydroepiandrosterone sulfate(DHEA-S)基礎値とACTH値の基礎値,頂値,変動値,AUCとは,いずれも相関関係を認めなかった.以上より,男性化徴候を伴わない本邦の女性痤瘡患者において,視床下部―下垂体系の軽度の機能異常を認める症例があり,そのことがストレスによる痤瘡病態の悪化と関連があることが示唆された.
