After World War II, as Japan’s industries grow, pollution-caused diseases occurred in various places. The environmental pollution caused by private companies had become more serious than ever. In response to that, new environmental laws and regulations have become in force in early ’70s. Such trend rapidly led companies and enterprise to be more environmentally friendly. The new environmental equipment and facilities were introduced accordingly.
The pulp industry, which consumes a large amount of water and energy in manufacturing process, also has grown significantly. In parallel to their growth, the pulp industry was running ahead of other industries in developing environmental equipment and enlightenment to environmental protection.
Sumitomo Heavy Industries Environmental Co., Ltd., engaged in water treatment business since the 1960s, has delivered substantial number of wastewater treatment facilities such as “activated sludge” and “coagulation sediment” to the pulp and paper industry.
There are many facilities that have been in operation for 40 to 50 years. Although they are under careful daily maintenance, the aging concerns are unavoidable issues. In addition, changes in characteristic of the raw water and changes in regulations made existing facilities obsolete, in some cases.
Although many of the existing facilities are coming close to update, so much negative aspects such as too much Space, Time & Cost, prevent the project from moving forward.
We, Sumitomo Heavy Industries Environment, here suggest their unique way of facility life extension, stability enhancement and energy saving as our “renovation” plan to you.
