    Question and Answering (Q&A) sites are recently gaining popularity on the Web. People using such sites are like a community-anyone can ask, anyone can answer, and everyone can share, since all of the questions and answers are public and searchable immediately. This mechanism can reduce the time and effort to find the most relevant answer. Unfortunately, the users suffer from answer quality problem due to several reasons including limited knowledge about the question domain,
    bad
    intentions
    (e.g. spam, making fun of others), limited time to prepare good answers, etc. In order to identify the credible users to help people find relevant answer, in this paper, we propose a ranking algorithm, InfluenceRank, which is basis of analyzing relationship in terms of users' activities and their mutual trusts. Our experimental studies show that the proposed algorithm significantly outperforms the baseline algorithms.

     ホラー作品において,恐怖の対象となるキャラクターなどをあえてはっきり映さない演出がおこなわれることがある.これは恐怖の対象がはっきりと見える場合と比べ,視聴者に対してより強い恐怖感を与えることができる.また,この「恐怖の対象を隠す演出」をおこなった場合でも,ストーリー上のある時点で恐怖の対象を登場させることで,視聴者の恐怖感をより高めることができる.その際に重要なのは,カメラワークをはじめとする登場のさせ方に関する演出や,登場させるタイミングである.そこで,本研究では視聴者が知覚する恐怖のレベルの影響を明らかにすることを目的とした.そのため,既存作品を用いてホラー作品における恐怖を演出するためのタイミングやカメラワークを分析した.

    Nian Hua (Spring Festival pictures for the Lunar New Year), which had been an indispensable part of Chinese everyday life, is a gem in the treasure trove of the traditional cultures created by the common people in the long process of history. This research was carried out to examine the inheritance and revitalization of China's disappearing folk culture and modernization through the analysis of China's folk art, Nian Hua, as well as to rediscover and reassess its value. In conclusion, Nian Hua can be understood as follows: Nian Hua is the concentrate and sublimate of the common people's life. Nian Hua is the mirror of common people's life. It contains people's joys and sorrows in their life, reflects people's enthusiasm for a bright prospects in their life; what is more, expresses people's eagerness for sublimating the life and nature, shows people's pursuit for the perfect harmony between man and nature. Looking at the environmental condition of the earth today, "harmonious coexistence with nature" that the people of China have hoped for through nian hua is truly a universal theme. From this perspective, it is necessary for us to re-assess nian hua culture.

    The growing popularity of Pentecostal Charismatic Churches (PCCs) in Africa has often been analysed in terms of their characteristics of rupture with traditional religions and kinship, rather than tolerance for other religions, and has been widely discussed in relation to contemporary economic and political dynamics. However, their healing practices, which have opened spaces for religious plurality, have not received sufficient analytical attention despite becoming people’s immediate motivation to join the PCCs. PCCs’ practices are characterised by strong bodily engagement and affectivity. Drawing on empirical cases from Benin, this paper aims to understand the popularity of PCCs and religious plurality from the perspective of healing and affectivity. First, I will explore the healing itineraries of PCCs’ followers in Southern Benin to shed light on their complexity and the role of affects. Second, I will focus on how healing efficacy is felt through PCCs’ religious practices and clarify their material and affective characteristics. Through this analysis, I will discuss how affective healing practices found in PCCs have influenced their growth, as well as the religious plurality of contemporary Africa.

     This study aimed to develop a behavioral scale toward other people who fail at “taking a hint” and to test its reliability and validity. An internet survey was conducted with 419 university students (M=20.80 years, SD=1.85). The results indicated that the scale had a six-factor structure: Jeer / Tease, Criticize, Follow Along, Ignore, Avoid, and Gossip. Validity was examined in terms of both content and convergence. Reliability was tested in terms of internal consistency, factor invariance, and temporal stability. The results indicated the reliability and validity of the scale.

     This paper presents a survey of research utilizing insights from behavioral economics in the economic analysis of taxation and benefits and discusses Japan’s taxation and benefits policies from the viewpoint of behavioral economics. Behavioral economics is a collective term that is applied to research based on models in which the agent behaves under assumptions that differ from the “standard assumptions.” In recent years, there has been a sudden upsurge in research, even in theoretical analysis and empirical research on taxation and benefits. Specifically, studies are being conducted on topics such as tax-related inattention, the impact of taxation and benefits complexity, institutional design of retirement savings and pensions, promotion of tax payment, and the effects of benefits on labor, education and medical care. From the theoretical aspect, researchers are studying its relationship with optimal taxation. Knowledge of behavioral economics offers a new perspective to evaluate systems and policies related to taxation and benefits in Japan and has the potential to propose institutional design that is based on a more realistic image of humankind.

    Trust has become a key factor in creating more believable and humanistic social robots with continuous improvements in the design of robots. Various determinants contribute to trust in human communication, which have not been studied in human-robot interactions. This study investigated how the benevolence and competence characteristics of a social robot affect the perception of trustworthiness in human–robot interactions. We conducted a between-subject experiment in which the participants were presented with four different combinations of benevolence and competence for a social robot, and their general, affective, and cognitive trust toward the robot was measured. The results indicated the effectiveness of both benevolence and competence in human-robot trust. Furthermore, the participants rated the benevolent-noncompetent robot as more trustworthy than other behaviors in terms of affective trust, but not cognitive and general trust, which revealed the primacy of benevolence in fostering affective trust, and modulating general and cognitive trust. However, the competent robot did not significantly influence cognitive trust. Consequently, benevolence and competence are two influential factors in human-robot trust, with the significant effect of benevolence, which can help design more anthropomorphic social robots in the future.

    The 2006 return of the body Phạm Công Tắc, one of the founding spirit mediums of Caodaism and its most famous 20th century leader, re-awakened controversies about his life and legacy among Caodaists both in Vietnam and in the diaspora. This paper argues that his most important contribution lay in formulating a utopian project to support the struggle for independence by providing a religiously based repertoire of concepts to imagine national autonomy, and a separate apparatus of power toachieve it. Rather than stressing Tắc's political actions, which have been well documented in earlier studies (Blagov 2001; Bernard Fall 1955; Werner 1976), I focus instead on a reading of his sermons, his séance transcripts and commentaries, histories published both in Vietnam and in the diaspora, and conversations with Caodaists in several countries when the appropriateness of returning his body was being debated.
