About J-STAGE WebAPI

J-STAGE WebAPI is an application programming interface (API) that enables users to retrieve metadata for J-STAGE content in XML format.

By implementing the J-STAGE WebAPI, users can:

  1. Extract data from J-STAGE content
You can store a list of published issues and tables of contents from journals on J-STAGE. The XML data can be imported into Microsoft Excel and other applications and manipulated.
Note that downloading a large amount of data is not permitted under the J-STAGE Browsing Policy.

  2. Link to J-STAGE content from your own website
Subscribing institutions and academic societies can extract lists of titles and published issues, tables of contents and URLs of journals from J-STAGE and display them on their websites. This lets their users access J-STAGE content quickly and easily.

  3. Perform integrated searches with other databases
J-STAGE WebAPI can be used in conjunction with APIs provided by JST (J-GLOBAL), the National Institute of Informatics (CiNii Articles), and the National Diet Library (NDL Search). Visit their websites to learn more about these APIs and their terms of use.

  4. Obtain up-to-date information
By registering the URL of J-STAGE WebAPI in an RSS reader, you can check updated information for articles.
